Why Renting a Stroller for Disney World is a Game-Changer

Hint: It's not just for kids!

Planning a trip to Disney World is always an adventure, especially if you’re bringing little ones along. One question I often get from my clients is: “Should we rent a stroller in the parks?” My answer is a resounding YES! But let's dive into why and how you can make the best choice for your family.

Why Rent a Stroller for Disney World?

  1. Disney is Huge: With over 40 square miles of magic, that's a lot of ground for tiny feet to cover. Strollers make it easier for everyone to enjoy the park without those “my feet hurt” complaints.

  2. It's Hot: Florida weather can be unpredictable, and let's face it, hot. Having a stroller means a shady spot for your child and a convenient place to stash those water bottles and snacks.

  3. Storage on the Go: Need a place to store your park essentials while you’re on rides? Strollers are the perfect mobile locker.

  4. Naps: Disney days can be long. A stroller is a great spot for those impromptu naps so everyone stays happy and rested.

Disney Strollers vs. Kingdom Strollers

You have two main options when it comes to stroller rentals: in-park rentals or third-party sources like Kingdom Strollers. While Disney strollers have that classic, cute look, they are hard plastic with no storage and limited comfort. Also, you have to return them before leaving the parks. On the other hand, Kingdom Strollers offer a range of comfortable, familiar strollers with added perks that you can rent for your entire stay!

Why I Prefer Kingdom Strollers (and You Should Too!)

  1. Comfort: Kingdom Strollers are much more comfortable for your little ones. Think padded seats versus hard plastic.

  2. Storage: These strollers come with storage options, making it easy to carry all your essentials.

  3. Rain Covers: Florida weather can change in an instant. Kingdom Strollers come equipped with rain covers to keep your little ones dry.

  4. Delivery and Pickup: They deliver and pick up the stroller at your Disney resort at a time that works for you. No hassle, no stress.

  5. Customization: Choose from a variety of stroller types that suit your family’s needs. Plus, they come with orange name tags and spots for your water bottles or coffee because, let’s face it, Disney requires coffee.

Pro Tips for Maximizing Stroller Use

  • Extra Storage Hack: Bring a carabiner to hang extra bags. Perfect for those souvenirs and snacks!

  • How Old is Too Old for a Stroller?: If it fits, I sits. My almost 8-year-old boys have enjoyed the double strollers. Was it a little squished? Yes. Did it save me from “my feet hurt” complaints? Absolutely.

  • Don't Hold Up the Lines: Make sure your stroller is folded up in anticipation of bus transportation and the bottom of your stroller/any back stroller pockets are emptied to be ready for security check points before the parks.

  • Stroller Parking is Real: There are designated stroller parking spots throughout each park while you enjoy all that Disney World has to offer. Make sure you're using those areas otherwise you risk not being able to find your stroller after your adventures! Cast Members WILL move strollers to appropriate areas!

  • Staying in a Skyliner route resort?: If you're staying at one of the Disney resorts on the Skyliner route (Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach Resort, Beach and Yacht Club, Boardwalk Inn and Villas and even the Swan and Dolphin Resorts) and taking that mode of transportation you're in luck! No need to fold that stroller up (Unless it is super busy!). Who doesn't love one less step when getting to the parks?
